NANCY SALLEE, M.A., MFT

KONA

Nancy moved her psychotherapy practice to Kealakekua, Hawai’i from the San Francisco Bay area in 2007. She received her Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology in 1999 with specialties in grief/loss/trauma, eating disorders and child adolescent psychology. Nancy is currently a licensed Marriage & family Therapist in both Hawai’i and California working with individuals, couples and families on issues ranging from: substance abuse; injury/pain management; divorce/separation; foster care/adoption; occupational/career counseling; child development; and attention deficit disorder, in addition to stated specialties above. Since 2003 Nancy has provided EAP counseling to clients referred from governmental agencies and private corporations.

Nancy’s work experience prior to psychotherapy include: 25 years as a classroom teacher; 15 years as a EMT III Advanced Cardiac Life Support provider/ instructor and American Heart Association instructor trainer; and 10 years in administrative management at a National Research Laboratory. She also volunteered for many years with several non-profit AIDS/HIV agencies and provided community outreach presentations for crisis support agencies in San Francisco and Hawai’i.

In addition to Nancy’s private practice, she serves as a forensic interviewer at the Kona Children’s Justice Center and as a facilitator for the Hawai’i Island YWCA Teen Court. In the capacity as a volunteer Mental Health Specialist and trainer for both the Hawai’i Island Medical Reserve Corps and the Hawai’i American Red Cross, Nancy responds to local as well as national disaster emergencies. Nancy’s personal interests include golf and raising orchids.

GLENN PRESSEL, MA, LFT
HILO

Glenn got his Master's Degree in Psychology in 1982 and has worked in Community Mental Health and private practice. He has worked with a wide range of specialties and issues, including: intimacy and relationship issues, family issues, addictions, both substance and behavioral, depression, anxiety, PTSD and trauma. He is a certified EMDR Level II therapist and has done EAP work since the mid 1990's.  Glenn lives just outside of Hilo with his partner and two cats. Glenn enjoys anything on the water, and all things gardening, that is if he's not out hiking.


JAMAL WASAN MSW, LCSW, Ph.D.
HILO

Jamal grew up on the East Coast and attended school in California, Oklahoma, Texas and Minnesota before he called the island of Hawaii his home. Jamal has a Ph.D. in Health Psychology in addition to two master's degrees and certifications in addictions counseling and hypnotherapy. His current position as the Coordinator of the Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Rehabilitation program at the Veteran's Administration combines Jamal's education and his military experience as a combat veteran and retired colonel. In addition to his busy work life, Jamal keeps active by running and playing golf as well as spending time with his wife and daughter.

AIMEE LOVE, M.A., LMHC, NCC, CSAC

Aimee Love MA, LPC, NCC, CSAC LMHC is in private practice on the Big Island of Hawaii. She holds licenses in both Hawaii and Colorado. She received her Masters Degree from Colorado Christian University and is presently a doctoral student in clinical psychology at Saybrook University and Research center. She is the mother of two, and stepmother of two. She works with trauma victims, blended families and children. She has extensive experience working with individuals, groups and couples. She is also a Certified Substance Abuse counselor. She lives with her husband David in beautiful Waimea where they enjoy ballroom dancing, swimming in the ocean and gardening.
